binkie, blankie, bed. that's about all my little sicky girl is wanting these days. unfortunately the "bed" portion of the trio has been more of a napping situation during the day and a whining and wanting me to hold her situation at night. can't blame her, i guess. double ear infections (that i SWEAR never went away since she had them around halloween... could explain her severe attitude problem the last month). she is usually a dream sleeper though, so i am struggling to say the least. maybe she is just giving me practice for baby. WOW. how quickly we forget....
as for the blankie thing. she has always preferred this particular blanket, but only if she happened to see it around or whatever. and if she had a different one in her crib to go to sleep, no big deal. well in the past week, it's been insane. all the sudden she is addicted to it. she hardly wants to put it down (i have to sneak it away to throw it back in her crib for a break or to wash it) and the ultimate proof came the other night when, in the dark, she saw me give her an alternative blanket. she shoved it off of her and stood up, looking down in to the basket by her crib where other blankets are. the beloved one was not in there, though. cue the crying. it was going to be washed after a day of literally being dragged around town...but no such luck. i had to sneak it away from her to wash it after she fell asleep! i'm all about having something that can get her to calm down in an instant, but i'm kind of of worried about it getting out of control. i'm not interested in washing it 4x a week, yet i HATE dirty blankets and clothes, etc. i'm also not interested in dragging it everywhere we go and fearing that we might leave it somewhere. talk about drama. any thoughts??
in other news, our weatherman keeps faking us out with wintery forecasts. they are only accurate until about 11:00am, at which point it shoots up to 70 and we're all sweating in our sweaters.
stuffed into her winter best for some playtime outside!
clearly annoyed that it's a little warm under that jacket and hat...

Oh man! These pictures are so cute. I love her little jacket and hat! To die for.
Kate is the same way with the blanket and binky. Loves them. I found that if I tell her that blanket has to stay in bed, or go in the washer, I let her drop it in, and then we say bye, bye blanket!
If I take it from her, she flips. I let her feel like it is her choice!
I wish she and Kate could play!
so cute love that hat
Paige had a favorite that is yellow and silky, so I went to the store and bought some fabric that is nearly the same and sewed it into a tiny blanket (about 8 inches square) so it's more portable. Then she can have her "blankie" in the car, church, etc. Good luck with the sleeping. Nothing about motherhood is harder in my opinion. Hope she's feeling better soon.
awwwww she is sooo soo cute!!!! I love her in that hat!!
about the ear infections. if you really feel like she is not getting over them, i would push for tubes. i tried with danielle in orlando, but the docs wouldn't listen. fast forward to three years later. the docs in utah finally got a clue and she went in for tubes. by that point, her adenoids were so infected that they had grown on top of her tubes, she had been living with constant infection for who knows how long. i am not trying to scare you, i just know that it made a world of difference for danielle, her health, her behavior, everything. i insisted that brinley get tubes and pushed it until someone would listen, and she has not had near the ear problems that danielle had. i won't ask about it ever, just giving food for thought :)
LOVED the xmas card! I can't believe you'll be the mommy of 2 girlies SO soon! Are you nervous? I bet the attachment to the blankie will just get more severe when the new one arrives. I let molly have her blanky and bink in the CRIB only. We just left Molly beloved blanky in Denver on accident and she totally boycotted her nap becuase of it. Luckily Dave's sister just flew in today and returned it to her. Geeez - these kids and their attachements! But Olivia will soon catch on I debated to take the binky away from molly in the next little bit - but then opted not to because then she'll probably take the new baby's anyway. Let me know if you have any luck ;)
oh man i could eat her in that first picture. loveeee the outfit.
